Now that the dream is slightly reestablished, the next plot is kicking off.
When the world ended, bangles reflecting the coloration of each Divinity appeared on the forepaws of the two rivals, Mengsel and Springmoon. Enameled, they reflect the colors of each in mysterious, undulating swirls; the colors of their eyes pulse in gemstones set into the jewels. Most oddly, though, each bangle has a bracket attached to it, as if meant to be one-half of a set of manacles. Mysteriously, their parents, Asla and Najidiius, appeared and pronounced both of their children absolute failures. Though their "families" have always been enemies, the two progenitor deities seemed to agree on one murky topic, and together they vanished.
To appease their parents and hopefully rid themselves of the accursed adornements, the two made a pact to re-create a balanced world, as neither had enough strength to balance and form a new creation. Two weeks later, the new world sprang into being, glittering and fresh. Mengsel became Dark Lord of the South, while Springmoon became the Fair Lady of the North. Each had a special glade to claim as their own, and a temple dedicated to their glories. In Mengsel's territories there appeared sleek black divining balls; in Springmoon's, fountains of glowing water. The devices are blank and empty, no longer reflecting the faces of the beings that they call parents. (The divining balls/pools serve as methods of communication) Still, the night is dark and the sun shines during the day; but where have gone the creator and the destroyer? What purpose do the bangles serve?
UPDATE: Nov 20, 2006.
Fall has come, and with the waning of the season, so too increase Mengsel's strengths and Springmoon's weakness. For some reason, she's recently become listless and depressed.
The bangles are revealed to check the attacks of both deities. If Springmoon is hurt, Mengsel feels pain, and vice-versa. This has led to an uneasy peace: what will happen if one power cannot ursurp the other? With a sudden influx of new creatures in the land, the outcome remains to be seen.
UPDATE: Some time in January
In a series of events as of yet unknown to all but Springmoon and Mengsel themselves, the two mysterious bangles have been removed from their forelegs and have been replaced with stud earrings. What has become of their forced bond? Tension has grown during the long lull since the world's re-creation. Is the forest about to be thrown into another struggle for control between the two remaining Avatars?
