(Just to let y’all know, I might be slightly rusty; it’s been awhile since I had the chance of a good Roleplay.)
-Character Name-
-StarTithe-
-Character History-
A kit was, with two others, was born on an average early morning. The clan she was born into was an average group of vulpes, with their own set of customs and laws, their own lore and history. But on this morning, as the sun rose a star could be seen, slightly to the left and above the bright light of Fernis, unusual, yes, but not unheard of. This birthing just happened to coincide with another, and it just happened that this other vixen died, leaving two orphaned kits, this vixen just happened to lose two of her own kits. So it was decided that this vix would adopted the two orphaned kits. As the three kits grew, the two adopted kits seemed to get most of the attention, though by no means of the vix trying to favor them, it was more along the lines of the surviving kit forfeiting most attention to them.
When the kits reached six moons of age they were ready to be apprenticed within the clan and given a suitable name. On the eve of the full moon the kits were herded to the center of the camp and the Alpha made a short speech about how all must learn the skills needed for a successful clan, and finally the choosing was to begin. Right away the male orphan was chosen by a warrior to learn to protect and provide for the clan. Shortly there after the she-orphan was chosen by a scout to be educated to see all details and warn the clan of upcoming dangers. A long silence followed as the surviving kit was left on the Stone of fate, for that is what happened when you were on the stone, you would be told which fate was to be yours. None seemed to want this kit that seemed so withdrawn and overly calm for a kit of six moons. At last the old clan Lorekeeper stepped forward and spoke the oath that would take this kit under her and raise and protect it,
“Let all know that I, MoonDweller, take on this kit as my charge to learn and speak the history and lore of our clan and to the future generations. Let all call her StarTithe, for she was born with the morning star, and the tithe of that star was great, the loss of her littermates as well as the loss of our She-Alpha.”
And so was named StarTithe, and she was taught the many stories and history of her clan...
-Character Description-
The kit that was born the morn of the morning star was odd, in comparison to the remainder of the clan. Her structure was smaller than the average vixen and her tail was longer, thicker and more feathery than would be expected form one her size. Her clan mates were all dark and light tans, auburns, reds, browns, and sometimes dark grey, but not often, while she was mostly void of color. Her feather-like coat was a clouded white with glorious streaks of silver here and there. Her petite mitts and extremely light grey, matched by her tail and ear tips, and underbelly. Her eyes on the other hand were a kaleidoscope of colors. Mostly a teal color, the exact color of the morning star, with silver streaks, and gold squiggles and splotches of auburn, red, brown, and to many other colors to describe. For, in the truest since with StarTithe, eyes were definitely the spying glasses into the soul...
-List of abilities/powers, special items, ect.-
StarTithe’s eyes seem to be her main channel into her unusual abilities. For when she looks at any life form she can, ‘see’ would be the wrong word, ‘sense’ what they feel and often why. For instance if one were sad, and she glanced toward one, no matter the mask one hid that sadness behind, she would know it was there. This also seems to work with plants, if they are sick she would know, and of cores, try to help them.
She also seems to be able to project, which makes her an excellent storyteller, for all she need do it imagine, and all listening to her will see exactly what she imagine. Though, this gift took a long time to master, for if she had a bad dream, all in the clan had the same bad dream. Though, this would make a great defense from an enemy.
As for treasures, she has only a strip of leather braded into the fur behind her left ear. Attached to this strip is a small stone, the same hue as her eyes and the star she was born with, though the stone doesn’t have quite as many colors as her eyes do, it is still a magnificent thing to look at. Other than a spiritual comfort, and perhaps a channel for her powers, this stone is totally worthless, only a reminder of her unusual gifts.
-A sample roleplay post. This is the most important part.-
Youth of a vixen laid upon a rather flat stone, her seemingly too long of a tail swayed lazily from one curve of the stone to the other. She was surrounded by a group of vulpes, varying in age and size, though she was by far the smallest, all listening closely to her tale of a proud brute of a fox, and his defeat by a small vixen with no skills, only her cunning intelligence. At the end of her tale all seemed to awaken for a trance-like state, and the younger kits begged her for another story.
“No, no,” She spoke softly, silvery audits laid back slightly at their disappointment before she continued, “Your mothers and mentors will be upset with me for keeping you out this late already.” With a smile she projected warmth, comfort, and sleepiness, so the younger ones wouldn’t argue, before she shooed them away.
The young vix wandered over to her old mentor and lay beside the ragged and mean-looking vixen, who she knew from experience would have you believe she was as mean as she looked but was nowhere near it.
“MoonDweller, do you believe in the place that has unusual vulpes and canids, like me?”
Eyes looked expectantly at the older she-vix, tassel twitching with anticipation of her answer.
“As surely as I believe you were born with the morning star, and have been given gifts none other in this clan has.” Was the rough reply.
Star nodded slowly, and ‘felt’ that Moon was waiting for her to continue, her voice was softer this time, so none but Moon could hear her,
“Do you think I could find this place, with other gifted, and so many more stories to learn?” Her eyes were full of excitement now, at the prospect of leaving and finding new stories, and new places.
“You me to say, if you left the clan?” And at the youth’s swift nod, the older vixen continued, “Of cores you would.”
At this news Star’s extensive tail wagged freely as excitement leapt though her body. “You wouldn’t stop me?” She asked, knowing that very few left the clan and those that did stayed close.
“Child I could stop you no more than I could stop the sun setting and the moon and stars rising.” The elder laughed softly as the young vixen stood and paced excitedly, looking for all the world like the excitable kit she’d never been.
“Then I shall leave tonight, before I am to become a full clan member. I would hate to desert when the entire clan new me as the Lorekeeper.” Star spoke swiftly, enthusiasm causing her to pace in front of the elder.
Eventually the two rose together to leave the camp and say farewell, for that was the end and the beginning for StarTithe...
(O.o Sorry about the length, got carried away, like I said, it’s been so long since I’ve had a good Rp I must have gotten over excited...If you want I can do another post, one that is more like a post and less like a story. Oh and I’m open to changes as well as different ranks, I’d just as well be a normal vix as a Featherwind...^_^ Hope y’all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.))
