In the beginning, there was nothing but chaos. In the vast vacuum of emptiness, storms raged over dark water. There was no land; there was only a bottomless ocean. The waters swirled in the darkness; there was no light.
For a very long time, there was nothing but chaos. Order comes out of chaos; Asla was born. She drifted, fur-less and tiny, in the ocean of chaos. The storms stopped for her, and the waters ceased to thrash. There was the first calm.
Asla asked for land, and the oceans receded; the oceans were no longer bottomless. On the land, Asla gave birth to all the creatures of the sea; the ocean was her midwife. She gave life to the stars and the sky; the stars gave breath to the wind. Many of the stars fell; they became Asla's most loyal friends and servants. Asla gave the stars form; she gave them bodies and wings to fit their souls. These fallen stars were the first Featherwinds.
Although there were many featherwinds on the land, it was cold, and Asla remained lonely. Her belly swelled, and Asla gave birth to the plants and trees; the next day, she gave birth to all the animals of Dapplewood. She saw that the plants languished in the dark, and that the animals were unhappy. Asla created a mountain to reach the stars; she created a palace in the heavens, and sat there as the goddess of the sun. There was light; the plants and the animals were happy, and the featherwinds were joyful. Asla was still lonely and sad; the power she held as the sun was unfufilling.
Asla's belly swelled larger than it had before; in time, she gave birth to the four goddesses of Dapplewood; the Moon-goddesses. Her firstborn was Springmoon; she appointed her children to a palace in the moon where they could rule the day and the night. That is why the moon is always visible during the day in Dapplewood, and why it is so bright at night.
Deep in the ocean, though, chaos still reigned. Out of this chaos came Najidiius, the demon lord. He created a kingdom for himself, which he named Naegima, and proclaimed himself brother of Asla. When he left Naegima to visit his proclaimed sister, he fell in love with the Earth and decided to steal it from Asla. There was a great battle; many stars fell from the sky. One of the stars, Globalia, fell in love with Najidiius and joined his quest for domination. She was spurned by Asla; Asla denied her entry to the sun-palace after finding her traitorous. Globalia gave birth to the four dark avatars, and to all the lesser demons. She reigns Naegima's deepest pit with her mate, Najidiius.
Asla's light shone over the world, but it was still not enough. Other gods had formed since the time of chaos, worshiped by many ferals. In time, Asla became known to them by many other names- Ra, Helios, and Amateratsu are a few given to her. She set many new gods to rule the earth and the planets with her. They include Anubis and the guard of Hell, Cerberus.
